Hi, I'm Emily Pederson, a photographer, filmmaker, and photo editor from Rhode Island. My work focuses on human rights, social movements, and the aftermath of violence. I believe in using documentary work to contribute to collective memory, most of all for the community the work is about.

After studying Photography and Human Rights at New York University, I moved to Mexico for three years, where I covered struggles for justice and the impact of the Drug War on Mexican society. Now back in New York, I've gone into photo editing and visual production at Blink Media and continue working on documentary projects. I also do Spanish-English translation for documentaries, texts and events.

My work has been supported by Field of Vision and published in The New York Times, The Atlantic, The Huffington Post, and El Faro, among others.
