Emily Pederson is an independent documentary photographer and filmmaker from Rhode Island, the smallest state in the United States. Her work focuses on human rights, social movements, and the aftermath of violence. While living in Mexico for three years, she covered struggles for justice and the impact of the Drug War on Mexican society. She is now based in New York City.

Emily's work has been supported by Field of Vision and published in The New York Times, The Atlantic, and El Faro, among others. She holds a degree in Photography and Human Rights from New York University, and is a member of Women Photograph and The Video Consortium.
